The Annual Family Carnival began in 1992 on Memorial Day weekend as a one day event that was organized by a handful of dedicated volunteers. Since that time the event has been moved to the first full weekend in June when the weather is a little warmer. The idea behind holding a carnival was to bring communities together for a exciting event that would cater to families. This event has continued to grow as we see a record number in attendance each and every year. A combination of national entertainment and the fireworks show on Saturday night proves to be the muscle of the event as the carnival grounds explode with festival goers.
Because of the generosity and dedication of some of our sponsors such as the Oneida Bingo & Casino, Radisson Hotel & Conference Center and WLUK Fox 11, the Family carnival now provides some of the best live entertainment, amusement rides and other family attractions. It’s truly one of the best events in the region that provides free admission and free live entertainment and is alcohol free. There is a minimal fee for the various carnival rides and there are numerous food vendors that serve up an assortment of food item’s that’s sure to satisfy everyone’s palate.
Thank you to all our volunteers that help out each and every year with everything from ticketing, working the prize booth, garbage collection and parking to name a few. The volunteers are the backbone of the carnival and we can’t thank them enough for all they do and have done to insure a successful event.
A big thank you to everyone for all the support through the years and I hope you have an eventful summer.
